Investigation Effect of Magnet Skew on Thrust Force in Linear Brushless Direct Current Motor with FEM

This study is concerned with the reduction of ripple in thrust force produced a linear Brushless Direct Current Motor (BLDC). To reduce ripples generated force, different methods such as structural solutions are applied both control part and production phase motor. In this study, skew application, which one mechanical methods, proposed. For reason, changes BLDC motor surface magnet-placed translator investigated by applying levels to magnets. First, 3D solid model was created. A pole on composed 3 equal magnet groups. each level, magnets were shifted mm independently other values examined. process, magnetostatic analysis performed. The results obtained show that skewing process reduces curve up certain point, after no significant improvement observed, while average value decreases significantly.
